Update from Mrs. Evenson

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am so excited to finally have a Music at Galva website.  It is something that I have been wanting to create for a long time.  I believe this will be an easy way to communicate with each other.  Please check the site often because I will be updating it frequently.

The year has began with a great start.  The high school band is working hard to provide the best half time entertainment possible.  We also marched in the Hog Days Parade, and we plan on marching at the Friendship Festival Parade in Canton on the 19.  The high school choir is small this year... but we are mighty.  We are singing in four parts which is a great feat.  Last year it took the choir until Christmas to sing in 4 parts and most of the pieces we performed were in 3 parts.  We have some hard working ladies in the choir this year.  The junior high ensembles are coming along.  The seventh graders are still trying to adjust to being in junior high and working with the eighth graders.  The eighth graders are trying to find their place as leaders.

 A few reminders:

High School Band Parents:  Marching shoes have been ordered.  If you have not yet sent $33.95 with your child please do so soon.  Checks are made out to Galva High School.

Parents of IMEA District Auditioners:  Please keep encouraging your child/children to practice the audition music.  I have only seen 2 students for help so far.

Have a wonderful week!

Pamela Evenson
